Waterproof... Not so much shockproof, perhaps the other way around.

Summary: The camera does take great photos and video, even though it's a little tricky to hold sometimes. However, My sister borrowed it when they went to Mexico. She says they hadn't been maltreating the camera or anything, It looks like it hadn't been dropped and wasn't submerged in water, yet when they got back, the screen quit working. I can still take pictures/videos with it, but I can't see what I'm taking them of.
Summary: I bought this video to take on our cancun family vacation. The quality of the videos and picture were great! Unfortunately, it's not "shockproof" because my "shockproof" happen to break with a hair line crack that I'm not sure how it happened because we did not drop the camera at all. So it was obviously not a durable, strong product even for the light outdoors. So sad this camera didn't last more than one trip.
Summary: This would be a great product if it hadn't leaked. Was working great and taking some really nice underwater movies and decent stills until it leaked water & died (I believe the seal on the usb hatch leaked). Also..sound was not very good. I'm going to try to send it back for a new one or a refund.
Summary: On our Honeymoon in Hawaii and couldn't wait to use this camera that we got as a wedding gift, on our excursions. Got great video of most of our adventures but one day decided to test the waters literally and took it to our pool. Went under water once and it was fine- turned it on when we got back to the hotel and it would show a blue screen and green light was on but then it went blank???
Summary: picture quality of video taken by this camcorder is not superior to one taken by a modest smartphone. mediocre stuff even for the low price. exposure metering is horrible. 1080p resolution NOT available at 60 fps rate. sound quality is not so good either. don't waste your money on this one.
Worked for one vacation in water, but not the second

Summary: Went to Florida in August and the camera worked underwater with no problems. Went snorkeling and in pools and had the camera underwater many times. Fast forward to November, we went to the Texas coast during Thanksgiving. Went out on a kayak in cooler temps. Didn't use the camera, but had it in my pocket. Flipped the kayak in the surf. The camera got a tiny bit of saltwater in the SD card slot compartment. The camera is now dead.
