  • Summary: The rugged GE DV1minicamcorder is OK for casual Web videos. If you need more than that, look elsewhere.
  • Cons: The DV1 captures motion poorly, is slightly confusing to use, has no video editing/sharing software, and uses a nonremovable rechargeable battery with a short life.

  • Conclusion: For an affordable and fun HD video camera the DV1 is a great choice. However, it won’t appeal to a serious videographer and is better suited for family holidays
