Summary: The product is awesome in a lot of ways. Small, compact, great flip out memory stick but the batteries last 1 day at most with intermittent video taking. Maybe I just need to remove the batteries in between use. Otherwise I like the quality of the images and recommend it.
Summary: I actually bought this for a friend's wedding gift, so I review based on the video she has shown me, and the things she has said about it. The footage I've seen is pretty decent. Just don't breathe too hard or you'll hear it on playback. Getting a still shot is pretty tough, so if you have the need for that, get something that isn't hand-held.
Summary: I bought this to use on vacation and also to convert some old 8mm home movies to digital. I would have rated this 5 stars expect for 2 issues. It is well known that these have charging problems. Also if I remove the camcorder from the USB while powered off it will not start again until I remove the battery and put it back in. (Reboot) It is a hassle trying to get a charge on the battery. Really glad I didn't get the MinoHD now with no battery access.
Summary: i had the flip for 1 1/2 months and now it not working. It stops functioning after I started my first uploading of video to my laptop. Not sure if this is just an exception. It took great video shots but now i have no way of seeing the shots i took.
Summary: Bought a Flip for my daughters, one had a problem with hers after a couple months but Amazon replaced no questions asked. Both work fine. The only drawback I saw was trying to take a picture off a clip we had shot, the picture was grainy and not good quality. For the money I think it is a very good deal. My eight year old granddaughter has gotten quite good at using it. It's easy to use, quite small and easy to carry and transfers to your computer very quickly.
Good portable camera, the younger brother to the HD Model

Summary: I have two Flip camcorders - the MinoHD, and the Flip Ultra (this product). I consider this one to be the younger brother to the MinoHD, with lower video quality, but also some things I like better than the HD model. Therefore I'm giving this 3.5 stars, and here is why. Here's what I like BETTER: 1. the larger viewing screen on the camera - as compared to the HD version, this one has a much better viewing screen and a much better field of vision.
Summary: I purchased the Flip Video Cam in Oct 2008. I always do a good deal of research before buying something - both on Amazon and elsewhere on the web. And I am tech savvy.
The main problem with the camcorder is the button. Other reviewers have mentioned this - specifically that you need to press hard. The button is certainly the problem but it is not pressure that is lacking. I believe the contacts are inconsistent.
Great camera shame it doesn't give you what it claims when uploading via flip!

Summary: I bought the Flip Ultra HD 8gb last week. It is an amazing camera. The sound quality and picture are supurb when you upload it to your computer. I am completely impressed with how the bass is not diminished as it is on most cameras. It is so easy to use. I LOVE it! Here is the big rub: Being a Flip, there is an option of uploading it straight from your camera to the internet via the little flippy out USB connector.
A great little video camera... when the battery will charge

Summary: Bought the Flip Ultra HD in November 2009. POSITIVES It is the easiest video camera I've ever used - literally push big red button to stop and start, it's great for those who aren't looking for something highly technical (Had a Panasonic DVD Camcorder before and it was far too complicated with different recording formats etc) The picture quality is really good, especially when you plug directly into a HD TV The flip software is excellent.
Great little video camera but problems with playback on PC and TV

Summary: I wanted a simple to use but high picture quality video camera because like many people with an old video camera I don't use it much due to the bulkiness / inconvenience. The Flip seemed to tick the boxes in this respect and we have had great fun taking videos. It is small, handy and very easy to use, so it gets used unlike the old video camera. The picture quality on the built in screen was very good and sound was good as well.
