Summary: Does a decent job of shooting basic videos. My biggest gripe is the Zoom feature is poor and limited. volume settings are also not high...other than that, it is easy to use and very handy update Feb 2012 Died after a few months of use...no wonder Cisco closed this line.,..
Summary: Flip died after three months. Worked great until then. Awesome concept. Easy to take videos. BUT THEN IT DIED!!! I tried ALL of the tricks to fix it...STILL DEAD. Don't waste your money. Buy a digital camera that takes hd videos like the Canon PowerShot SD780IS 12.1 MP. It's only $70 and won't die after just three months and takes video in HD!
Summary: I love the convenience. The camera is completely user-friendly, anyone can use it, perhaps even without reading the manual. Connecting it to the computer is also easy, as well as downloading videos and e-mailing them. I'm not technologically savvy, so, if I can use it, anyone can. The only drawback is - no matter how much you stabilize the camera, the image will still appear shaky. You don't see it on the camera screen, but you certainly see it on the computer monitor.
Summary: This was supposed to be a Christmas present for my teenager and the thing never worked. It would boot up, and then go dark. That was it. I went the rounds with technical support and then customer service. After technical support ignored me long enough, they finally gave up and sent me to customer service. Customer service then claimed they had not received the returned product. After sending the UPS tracking number they finally admitted that they had received yet.
Summary: Had this unit for less than 6 months and it stopped working well it turned on but buttons didnt work. Emailed Flip three times and no response. Save your money. Buy a better vid camera or if you must a different brand or you'll just be flushing your money down the Cr*pper.
Summary: I wanted a camera that would convert files to WMV because the files are smaller and compatible with Windows Media Player. The support section of Flip's website specifically says, in at least two places, that the Flipshare software on the camera will convert the video to WMV. This was the main reason I purchased the camera. When I got the camera I discovered that the software does not convert to WMV.
Summary: I bought the Flip Ultra before our Disney Vacation the end of December 09. I took it and my heavy duty vhs-c camcorder. I ended up just using the FLIP camera the entire trip bc I didnt want to haul around the big ole camcorder. Flip Ultra was awesome. Easy to use, fit in my fanny pack, I filmed our entire vacation on the flip (which had 120 min of record time). When I got home my troubles began. I loaded the FLIP with the easy usb connection onto my VISTA computer.
Summary: New Ultra 2nd Gen. camera will not connect with the iflip PC software. (it will connect with the computer and manual download works fine) Mediocre video quality. MP4 video format not recognized by popular video players such as Picasa and Window Media Player. Support sucks. I'm really disappointed. I suggest you pass on this product.
