Summary: This is the greatest little video recorder ever invented, and it's out of production. I dropped mine last week and while it wasn't damaged (whew!), I ordered this reconditioned unit as a spare. It shipped quickly and was well packed. We tested it and it worked. HOWEVER, this particular unit may have been used as a promotional giveaway, because it has an ad on the cover that cannot be removed.
Summary: Works great. I actually bought it used on Amazon. Also I had an older Flip camera in the past (I believe first gen). I'll sum up my Pros and Cons Pros: Very simple, easy to use. Very easy to upload with it's USB plug. Film quality is good. Small size and easy to carry around Cons: Limited memory ~1hr (but if you plan to upload and delete, it's not that bad). Battery life - I initially tried is with very cheap generic batteries and they drain fast.
Summary: I purchased this to make tutorial videos for my website. I liked how I could use the mini tripod to put it on a bookshelf to get a good angle. The controls are very simple and the sound is amazingly good for such a cheap video camera. I wish the HD quality was a bit better with the lighting and the 1 hour max is a bit of a nuisance because of the amount of time it takes to transfer data to my MAC.
Summary: Bought this to capture footage from my first trip to Las Vegas and it was definitely worth every penny i spent on it. Battery life could be improved a bit since it seems to be high drain, but its definitely worth owning this item, especially is using rechargeable batteries.
Summary: Battery died rather quickly and had a problem with freezing.Other than that it was a replacement for a gift that was lost during vacation. Not bad money for the product. Wish it came with a manual to help troubleshoot freezing problem all we could do was remove batteries and start over. Not fun during parties.
Summary: It is pretty easy to use.I had one before which was lost. Very pleased with it. its performance. The camera does not come with lot of instructions to make the best of it. I ordered Flip for dummies and that was really helpful.
Summary: This video camera first of all is small, handy, lightweight, and effective, but does have it's flaws. First of all, it has bad battery life, you can only go a few days without having to change the 2 double AA batteries. The picture is kind of fuzzy, even though in HD. My first Flip-Cam was defective, and it was a complete hassle sending it back to Cisco. The second is great and works fine.
Summary: I don't own this myself as it was a present for friend 2 yrs ago. She loved it and uses it from time to time. Seeing the videos she made, isn't bad. Also its very light weight which is both good and bad. I don't know if there is a stabilizer, but, if not, you need to have steady hands. I've seen some videos online that shot with this type of camera and it gave me a headache because of camera shake. Its good for taking short videos. Audio isn't bad.
Summary: This is a great product for easy videos. I wish I had paid more attention, though. It will not take still pictures, as well as videos. My first flip videoHD does. I bought them to use in a classroom and was hoping to use them both still and video. My fault though. Just a warning to those of you that might be thinking the same thing. Great company to purchase from, as they were here before the bill arrived.
