Flip-I Love Mine, But...

D. C. Potter "dougie", Amazon
18 July 2014
  • Summary: Fairly frequently I'll post a video. Some are better than other, depending on the shot I made. The video camera I use is a Flip video. I got it for $75 or $80 a few years ago. They're listed( new) on Amazon now for from $250- almost $400, which is nuts. Cisco discontinued Flip manufacture back when I first heard of it and bought mine. They did it for a good reason: unreliable manufacture.

  • Summary: The wide angle lens and the regular Len no longer stay on the body of the flip it self. Very disappointed.

Disappointed

rakuten

  • Summary: This is an awesome product with better features than other cameras of its type. However, I had the same problem that I have seen others write about...it occassionally freezes. Usually I have to remove the battery to get it to work again. There is also a problem with updating the included software and firmware...it says there is no access to the Internet, but there is. When it works it is awesome.

Flip Video and PowerPoint

DT, Amazon
19 March 2012
  • Summary: Nice product, however you cannot use to insert within PowerPoint which was the reason I purchased. The Flip file type is MP4. Recommend to purchase adapter and tripod with the Flip.

For filming outdoor or small rooms BLASTED with light.

morymb, CNET

  • Summary: The Flip Ultra HD is a good camera for well lit areas (extremely well lit).
  • Pros: unbelievably easy to use, excellent transfer capability. Fast sharing, importing. Never miss a moment type of camera.
  • Cons: no lens cover, no ext. mic jack, AWFUL, AWFUL indoor recording..simply disgusting..I couldn't believe it, I still can't., The indoor (low light) issue is really my only complaint..anything else is understandable considering the low price of a unit

just okay..

  • Summary: It's bulky and eats AA batteries like candy. The video quality is nice, though. I will be returning this and spend a little more money for a better quality camera. This one feels like a toy. It's great for a kid if you are worried about it getting broke. Also, it doesn't have a flash to take videos at night which is bad.

Not Rechargeable

artgirl, Amazon
26 December 2011
  • Summary: "Power up with the included standard AA batteries. And for even better charge time, try using the Flip Video Rechargeable Battery Pack [sold separately]" This is the quote that I took off the Amazon website for this camera. So I bought the Flip Video Rechargeable Battery Pack (separately) when I bought the Flip UltraHD Video Camera, but it does NOT work with this camera. Not only does it not work, it doesn't even fit into the battery compartment.

  • Summary: this was my first camcorder, and i must say that it takes wonderful quality videos!! can zoom, great for vlogging and everything like that. the only problem that i have is that it does. not. focus. whenever i hold anything up to the camera its all blurry and it has really been getting on my nerves. this isn't a big deal for some people, but if its important, do not get this camera!!!

ups and downs.

Amazon Customer, Amazon
26 November 2011
  • Summary: I thought this camera would make it easy to take out and video my kids all the time...it does, but I don't like to use it. The major setback which I don't like, is that every time you stop filming and then start again, it makes a new clip, whereas with a camcorder, it's one continuous video. So when I download the videos from this, I will have a bunch of short videos. I'm not liking that. Also, sometimes, there is a red pixel on the screen, sometimes hard to ignore.
