Average product but not worth the price.

Kevin B., Amazon
27 October 2014
  • Summary: It's a bit too pricey for the product. I bought this for my brother who has autism and doesn't have the maturity or cognitive control to own and keep safe a smartphone but who loves to record videos. After researching other alternatives, this model is just too pricey for a product market with fairly low demand. The controls and interface are very user-friendly and the video quality is above average.

Flip MinoHD Video Camera

P. Russo, Amazon
12 September 2012
  • Summary: We have been looking for a video camera that's easy to operate. We were happy with the Flip MinoHD Video Camera. The video quality was pretty good. We were disappointed that this product was not able to take still pictures, which we thought it would.

If your Mino HD died and more information

Sidehop, Amazon
4 May 2012
  • Summary: I've owned both FlipHD and MinoHD to give you some in-depth review on what's better and how to reset your dead MinoHD (towards the bottom). In contrast, Flip & Mino both are identical in terms of video quality and functionality. Comparing the two I came with these comparisons. Build Quality = Tied Flip feels like a cheap plastic toy while the Mino has a solid metal casing that's slimmer than it's plastic sibling.

Good camera for the everyday jobs

K. Miller, Amazon
14 December 2010
  • Summary: This isn't my first flip and overall I'm impressed with most of the updates since my previous model. This flip is a hand held HD video camera that will record about 2hrs of video with remarkable sound quality for the size of the unit. The image stabilization is really nice since the unit so small and light that it's easy to wiggle and shake when holding it "steady" for a shot.

Simplicity as a Selling Point

ChrisJoker, epinions.com
28 November 2010
  • Summary: Versatile enough to be a secondardy camcorder for more experienced users or a primary camcorder for those seeking the basics.
  • Pros: Easy to use, compact, all-in-one design
  • Cons: Might be easy to misplace, zoom not particularly powerful

A Good Pocket Camcorder That Could Have Been Great.

Anthony Pantliano "The Photo Guy", Amazon
17 October 2010
  • Summary: The Flip MinoHD pocket camcorder has all the basics well covered. Video quality, battery life, ease of use, and build quality are great, but the Flip falls short on some details. The MinoHD is quite compact and made of high quality materials. The front of the player is made of a reflective plastic, and the remainder of the body is constructed of aluminum.

The Flip Mino HD 2nd Gen - A Basic HD Pocket Camcorder With Minor Updates

Mark "Technology, Music and Movies", Amazon
25 April 2010
  • Summary: The second generation Flip MinoHD delivers the basic features users are looking for in a portable HD video camera. This camera is almost too basic in the sense that it offers very few customizable options relative to its premium price point. We've come to expect more from Flip as the market leader in this product segment. The updates to this camera when compared to the first generation are minimal. They have not fixed some of the key problems the first generation had.

Confirming USB connection problems

Sonia J. Luna, Amazon
27 January 2010
  • Summary: I didn't try the USB connection until I was on vacation. After I had recorded video, I tried to insert the Flip in my HP EliteBook laptop. The USB didn't fit. I e-mailed Flip and they said there was no problem with their product, but after several rounds of e-amiling back and forth customer service offered to send me a cable to fix the problem. I returned the first Flip I bought through Amazon and the USB port on the second one didn't fit.
