OK Video Bad Audio

Mitchel S., Newegg
10 February 2011
  • Summary: A friend used this camera and was able to import and edit in FCP without any problems. I however could not. I had to use MPeg streamclip to convert these h.264 .mov files into h.264 .mov files and then it worked fine.
  • Pros: Pretty good video quality. I just shot a 10 minute (post edited) movie using this camera and the video came out ok. I used 720p/60fps settings and used FCP to edit the movie.
  • Cons: Audio quality is terrible. The mic is located on the front side of the screen. So when you adjust the screen up and down for best viewing angle you lose mice direction focus. Also, we setup the camera on a tripod and interviewed people. The audio was very low and had a high pitched hiss to it. Yo...

David W., Newegg

  • Cons: There's no optical image stabilization, the autofocus "hunts" sometimes and low-light performance is limited. However, these shortcomings seem to be par for the course with inexpensive camcorders. My only real complaints are that noises from the autofocus mechanism are picked up by the microphone...

Melanie B., Newegg

  • Summary: Save your money! I don't need the battery to tell that this is a low quality camera. DXG won't be around long and I can't imagine that their cameras will be either!
  • Pros: Cheap! Can't respond to the vid quality because it came missing the battery and HDMI cable!
  • Cons: Customer Service!!!!!! Bought three weeks ago. Came missing the battery and HDMI cable. Called them and sent a copy of the receit, called back two weeks later to be told that they had no record of it (no ticket was ever started??) The second person I spoke with hung up on me after informing me th...
