Summary: After an initial 5 minute trial video, there were no obvious problems. However, after obtaining a few accessories (waterproof case, mounts, etc.), it was time for a test on the water: flats fishing in Florida. After about 2 1/2 hours of recording on the water, I could hardly wait to get back to the house and play it all back. This turned out to be a big disappointment. The playback was jerky/choppy, i.e. not smooth..
Summary: My title pretty much summarises my experience. I bought this for my wife as we were travelling to the Galapagos islands and she needed something to take with her on her dives. After the first dive, the mic stopped working and by the end of the trip, the front element was scratched despite the fact that the camera was used very sparingly. I do not recommend this product.
Summary: I was compelled to return the ROAM2 without even using it; as the quality/lack of customer support put me off. I had an issue with setting up an account and with updating the firmware for the camera and it's associated software. The 'Check For Update' option on the Storyteller Software did not work & the manual process also failed.
Summary: Contour went bust last year no mention of this on Amazon camera works now and again I have read the forums and they say to update the firmware to 2.16 and this sorts it out but i have tried to update the firmware. followed the guides but no joy. when you turn it on to record it crashes about 70% of the time Shame as it is an easy camera to use with your motorcycle gloves on and i like the way it attaches to the helmet and is waterproof etc but its just to unreliable...
Summary: Received the camera fine however I found problems downloading the additional software and firmware from he contour web site. I got a series of errors from the site and investigated further. It turns out that Contour HAVE GONE OUT OF BUSINESS (August 2013) and while the web site is still there in part, there will be no support. The contour site says nothing about this however their Facebook site has all the discussion.
Summary: Got the camera ok but very disappointed to find out that the Contour Storyteller software could not be downloaded from the Contour website. Later found out that Contour have gone out of business. Why sell a camera for which the software is not available? Not happy that this product is offered for sale with no product support. Now unsure about the warranty and what to do if it goes wrong.
