Summary: Make sure you run the unit (you buy) before your refund time is up. Bought one for use during paddling season .... long after the purchase and the stupid thing didn't work at all. Dead. Love these camera's (would have been my second unit) but the love affair is over,..
i would like to say the camera quality is pretty good
10 May 2015
Summary: First, i would like to say the camera quality is pretty good. Second, knowing that the only time the battery is being used is when the switch is forward makes recording much easier. Now for the bad.
Summary: The camera itself is pretty nice, would have gotten 3 or 4 stars. Very basic, but its easy to use and the videos are decent. It's annoying though that you have to connect it to a computer to change settings. But for $100, it's a great buy. My issues...
Most of my video of my bike trip to Hana were useless. Contour was barely sympathetic
28 November 2014
Summary: I wish I hadn't bought my Contour GPS. The camera design is faulty, and allows the SD card and/or the battery to jiggle on rough roads. It recovers from the failure to write, but the .mov files are corrupted and cannot be recovered. Most of my video of my bike trip to Hana were useless.
Summary: This is a terrible buy for me. When I first got it I put it on charge, the manual (which has to be downloaded) said it may take 3 hours to fully charge and the led will turn from red to green. That never happened.
Summary: The online support to use the camera properly is not user friendly. Apparently, the company has gone out of business. Out of the box, the camera needs updated, a manual is available only on line and to adjust the camera requires online functions. None of the above works.
