Conclusion: Receive a Contour Plus for Christmas and we wouldn’t do anything drastic like burn bridges with your friends and family. This is still a competent action camera that gets the job done. But when the GoPro series is out there, with better video and wider shooting angle, it’s hard to compete.
Pros: Want to know where you filmed as well as what? The Contour+ conveniently comes with GPS built in so that you can see the route you took on a map, as well as on screen. The Contour+ also comes with a rotatable lens, so you can perch it at the right angle for you to film at, whatever your needs.
Cons: As you’ll see in the clip above, we chucked the Contour Plus into the atmosphere along with some of its rivals. Sadly, its full HD video just isn’t up to the standard of its rivals, with footage coming out slightly blurred. Worse still, the viewing angle shrinks to 125 degrees at this setting. That makes it a hard sell versus the top notch GoPro series, and the affordable Ego series from Liquid Image.
