Summary: I just returned from a 2,500 mile motorcycle trip on which I used the ContourROAM daily, and am generally pleased with the camera, but it has several issues that you should be aware of. 1) I was only able to record approximately 7 hours of 720p video using the 32GB SD card that came with the kit. This is far short of the advertised 12 hours for 720p and even short of the advertised 8 hours for 1080p.
Summary: Easy for use but I'm not satisfied with the picture and sound quality. It depends on the person's needs and expectations. As a whole, no doubt, this is a good camera. I'd go for something better though. Like the new Contour Connect. They say it's way better.
Summary: I love it in every way more than a GoPro, except that it's video footage seems to not be as stable as GoPro. What I mean, is sort of hard to notice, but in shaky stuff, like biking, the footage waves around like a flag in the wind. Other than that, it's great. I love the rotating lens, the laser leveler, the sleek look and feel and quick recording button...it's basically better in every way besides that. Which sucks because I really REALLY care about the video quality.
Summary: Although the video quality is good, there are several issues with the camera. The first is the sound. It is simply unacceptable. Even with microphone gain set to max (42), the camera can barely pick up engine noise from the rather loud exhaust on my sportbike. Thinking this was a defect due to Contour claiming that they were fixing it for other users, I sent my camera back for a replacement. But, the audio on the replacement was exactly the same.
Summary: We purchased this as a review unit for our motocross review website mviewz.com This was a great little camera. The rotating lens and included roating mount were great. The unit itself is beautiful brushed alloy. It has super simple operation with one huge on/off switch. The video is great - looks beautiful in 1080p with minimal rolling shutter jello.
Perfect for planned events or trips under 3 hours.

Summary: If you want to record events in the 2-3 hour range this is a great camera. If you are looking for something to record a day's long motorcycle ride then this is not the camera for you. The battery will die in about 3 or 4 hours. It is a good stop gap for me until I purchase POV HD camera from VIO.
Summary: I actually hadn't read any reviews before buying this product. It arrived and it actually didn't have long distant sound. the only sound it picked up was from wind going by or setting the camera down onto the table. I called and they said there is some firmwear coming out to fix this problem. I think it happens to everyone's camera. I ended up returning it.
Summary: I've only used the camera a couple of times so far... the first of which was during a consistent light rain while mountain biking out on the trails here in the Pacific Northwest. In the product description you'll find a whole paragraph describing how this unit is "super tough" and how the "ContourROAM is made to withstand encounters with everything from eating mud puddles", etc.
Summary: It appears that Contour has had a batch of cameras that went out with defective microphones. The customer service has been good so far in getting it replaced. They are VERY WELL AWARE of the issue, however I believe it is more widespread than they let you believe it to be. There were lots of similar reviews regarding this, but it looks like Amazon deleted them for some reason. The support page on the Contour website has information regarding the issue.
Summary: This is a very cool cam, great looking on cycle or motorcycle helmet, not to heavy, nice. During the day you cannot fault this, on hell of a picture, excellent, but why I gave this 3 stars is the lack of night recording. If you wish to use this on roads which have street lights, car head lights etc. it is totally rubbish, it cannot perform in very low or dark areas, like i said during the day awesome, night sucks.
