Summary: Great camera in the beginning. during the 3 months, the laser guide stop working, and battery status fail to work. I also notice that the time stamp is running 30 mins slower in ever 2 hours. after 24 hours, you see it's 6 hrs behind. eventhough you use the Contour Storyteller to reset the time, you still get the time to run behind after a day or two.
Summary: This camera has to have the storyteller software. You have to use the software to change the camera's settings. They have changed the firmware to make it harder to change settings by simple text/line editing (although this is an option if your camera has the older firmware). Unfortunately the software has many bugs. It will not work on older Macs. And it has problems on x64 versions of windows 7. Some machines will work, but others do not.
Summary: Amazon had this camcorder at a special price, and after closely checking the reviews, I decided to go for it. The main issue with the low reviews was a problem with sound not being captured during recording. This problem is apparently caused by two issues, one which can be fixed with a firmware update, the other having to be fixed with a replacement from the manufacturer or from the seller. The lack of sound being recorded seems to be a bit of a lottery..
Summary: I recently purchased this camera and was very excited to use it while running. Its a cool looking piece of kit and looks far better than the chunky Go Pro's. However, I quickly found that there's a problem with the audio. Its very quiet because the mic picks up noise from the casing and then lowers all the levels. I can't even get it to record myself talking with the camera held ~1m away from my face while in a quiet room.
Summary: so out of the box the camera was fairly easy to use. It took some guessing to figure out how to open the back to insert my microsd card, but after that, there really wasn't much to it. It look video, but out of the box and audio was terrible. The only thing you could really hear was whenever you touched the case of the camera. I tried connecting it to the computer to see if I could adjust the volume but that did not seem to affect it.
Summary: It is not too bad, but I rate it 2 because it is not worth the money. Whenever you use it where there are sunlight/shadow spots (like in the woods in a sunny day) you only get white spots everywhere and images are the worst you can imagine. Even when you switch from shadow to light you get a white screen for a couple of secs at least.
Looked hopeful but inherent microphone fault let it down.

Summary: Looked hopeful but inherent microphone fault let it down, which is a shame as picture quality was fantastic. I found about the fault on Contours website so after updating firmware, whacking mic settings to max & still barely hear anything. It was obvious this was one of the faulty ones & returned it. As I couldnt be sure next be the same, I went for the ROAM2 & that was worth doing.
Summary: Seems like a really good camera! Have tested it out by going for a drive in my car with it stuck to the inside of the roof just behind the windscreen. The quality is a bit fuzzy/grainy and not what I consider true HD, however its very good really and you can read number plates etc. It's easy to use. Sound quality is good. Good value. However I only want to give it 2 stars because of the poor Amazon description that did not describe what I was getting!
Summary: I've had this helmet cam for a month and used it while snowboarding. The quality of the video is decent - when it works - I have had constant problems with corrupted video files. Of a days snowboarding consisting of approximately 15 runs, the first 3 or so will record properly, but the remainder will save corrupted.
Summary: The video quality was surprisingly good even in poor light. The audio on the camera was faulty even after firmware upgrades and setting the gain to maximum, the sound recorded was almost silent. Contour support responded to requests for assistance within hours and it quickly agreed that the camera was faulty and would have to be returned.
