Summary: The batter will not stay charged over night. It's a once use then you have to charge it again. I contacted contour and it was literally wearing me down. They would ask me one question at a time and respond once a day. It took 10 days and the product still isn't right. They made no attempt to try and make it right and acted as if it was an imposition on them to answer questions. Choose another camera.
Summary: There is not much difference between file sizes with the 720p and 1080p settings, but the 720p is not hi-def quality. It's very grainy and the the video clarity is worse than my old 6 year old Cannon still camera that records small videos in 240p files. The ContourRoam will not keep proper time on video files. The date and time on files get messed up every single time it is used unless it is used immediately after a sync with the PC's time using Storyteller.
Summary: Disappointed, to put it simply. I was looking forward to getting into POV action shooting. Of the various cameras out there (GoPro, Oregon Scientific, Drift), I liked the feel and look of the Contour the most. When the specs came out for the ROAM, I was all over it. I got my ROAM in the mail and immediately tested it out. Sadly, there was zero audio. I boosted the mic setting to 42 (max) and only got audio from mounting the camera.
Summary: Software or hardware Sound problems have not been fixed. WARNING see CountourRoam blogs. Sound muffled and low. Contour claims software fix is coming, but as of Nov.. 6, 2011 it's not fixed. Problem has been known for 30 days plus!
Summary: I discovered that mine records little to no sound at all. It turned out that Roam's firmware had a bug. It seems that they still haven't been able to resolve this issue. Roam was my replacement camera for my GoPro, but I'm back to GoPro now.
Summary: I purchased this camera on June 10th 2013 and it was defective out of the brand new box. I contacted this seller and got no response so I contacted Contour. They replied same day and said they would replace it. I had to pay the shipping back to Contour but I had no other choice. As soon as I shipped it off, I never heard another word from Contour. After repeated attempts at contacting Contour through their Web Site, I decided to try their Facebook page.
Summary: My ContourROAM was DOA with a low recorded audio problem. So I browse through the customer support section on the Contour Website and WHOA!!! From the Contour support site: "... The second audio issue involves the camera CONSTANLTY recording low audio. This issue is the result of a mechanical problem with the camera's microphone assembly and cannot be corrected in the field.

Summary: Item was delivered quickly. As it was a gift it was not opened straight away but thankfully opened before the return time window expired. Item delivered was the watersports pack. This is different to the standard unit which is designed for a helmet. Amazon would only refund the money as this was from a "Fulfilled by Amazon" item. As item had gone up in price they would not take this into consideration. Beware of Fulfilled by items as there is not the support required.
Summary: I've been really disappointed with this camera ever since I bought it. The first dissapointment was the battery. At full charge I was lucky to get 10mins of recording. The battery eats up power even in standby mode. When I e-mailed contour because I thought there must have been a fault, they said turn off the roam feature and tone down the quality of recording in order to make the battery last longer.
