Summary: After reading all the reviews I had to have this camera. Camera arrived dead. I went to Contours site, they are out of business so no support, only firmware software updates. Product returned.

Summary: I bought this camera only to have it break two months after purchasing it. In order to fix/replace the camera, you have to email tech support (only the online store has a phone number to call, and it's always an answering machine). But tech support is very slow to respond to emails - over a week with no response.
Summary: Overall I would have given 5 starts except that the mini HDMI port would not accept most cables. Its worked with the one that it came with (only 2' long) but I had to buy 4 before I found a 15' cable that would plug into the camera...and its hard to believe but it was the cheapest one I found on Amazon. I bought the camera for "live action" viewing with my wife...because she likes to watch.

Summary: Sometimes this camera records sound and sometimes does not. It also will show a thumbnail for a data file and when an attempt is made to open the file nothing is there(so your'e effectivly screwed out of your special moment). How can there be a thumbnail but no data file? The most irritating thing is when you call contour you only get a recording and my calls are not being returned. Look at a GoPro for sure before buying a contour cmera.
Summary: This is my third contour and a GIANT leap from the original 1080P-GPS and HD models! This has impressive picture quality but a 32GB memory card is a must, if it was capable of using a larger I would have one for it. The new function of the on/off/record switch is one of the biggest improvements, it couldn't get any easier! The Bluetooth functionality has increased and now includes a remote record button via Bluetooth.
Summary: I'm using this camera mostly to film my action shooting competition matches. Mounted to my hearing protection, it rocks in showing me where I can change my strategy and pick up more time. It's light and I've been able to shoot 3 shooters through a whole day of competition. I wish this one had the one button on and record, I think the newer + does that.
Summary: I bought this because I wanted to start recording some of my snowboarding runs. I didnt really like the style of the square Go Pro so I went with Contour. Its been a great little camera. Its not a rome but it is rugged and even though I've never used a case it has had its fair share of drops and bumps along with me on the mountain and has never had any problems!
Summary: I bought this for video while flying in planes. They are an ambitious company, but this version is not very good. The power button is so bad they have a video on their site entitled "why doesn't my power button work?" Well, I just followed their directions on how to re-assemble this $400 camera for them when in fact it should be a warranty repair, and now the power button is completely non-functional! I can't recommend this product- it just wasn't ready for prime time.
Summary: I use it to film all of my outdoor adventures. It is tough and does a great job. The picture is very clear and the sound is impressive. I am not an expert with video equipment or processing it after recorded, but have been happy with the camera and software. I can get it recorded and get it into a format for youtube or my iphone or computer fairly easily. I wouldn't trust it to be very water resistant without the additional case.
