Conclusion: For me, the Contour Plus, like its predecessors, remains a quirky and sometimes confounding camera that makes it difficult to achieve consistent results. Four years have passed since the introduction of VHoldR's 'Contour' helmet cam, and in that time video imaging technology has advanced tremendously. In that same time, Contour's cameras have advanced only incrementally in terms of picture quality. I think it's time for a game-changer—and this isn't it.
Excerpt: The Contour+ is a full 1080p HD point of view video camera that has been designed to capture the lifestyles of the most extreme people in the world. It can easily be mounted to just about anything, including head and helmet mounts, and can even stream full 1080p HD video with the optional accessories. Ruggedly built, its metal construction will keep it safe through tumbles and spills.
Conclusion: It has a cool GPS feature, but the Contour+'s $500 price is too high for a helmet camera with only decent video quality. You'd be hard-pressed to find a better model among the sparse selection of these specialized cameras, though.
