Not as Great as We Wanted

Sue, B&H Photo
3 September 2014
  • Excerpt: The cameras were used in a Video Boot Camp workshop with 30 people. The audio did not connect well on most cameras and did not allow us to show the final videos produced.
  • Pros: Clear LCD, Good Zoom
  • Cons: Poor audio, Poor Sound

wicked cool

  • Summary: totally awesome! wish it had hole to put on a tripod or some type of thing like that on the bottom of it but that said, it's a great little camera that does what was asked of it. The controls were easy to understand and the batteries last long enough if you have good batteries in them.

Don't buy it

Buddie, Amazon

  • Summary: First, if you are planning on taking this with you hiking or whatever you plan on doing for the day, buy about 12 re-chargable batteries to take with you, you will need them. Just the 2 AA batteries that come with the camera last me about an hour (tops). If you are planning on useing Full HD then you better get 24 re-chargeable batteries. Second, the buttons are really hard to push, I mean, sore thumbs hard to push.

  • Summary: I like most everything about this camera but I am surprised that even shooting in "full HD" the picture seems to be a bit grainy when using it indoors... In full sunlight outside however the video quality is great. Plus taking pictures with it is next to impossible! You have to push really hard on the buttons and doing so makes it impossible to get a clear shot!

Okay camera but a few things bothered me

J2201987, Amazon
7 January 2013
  • Summary: I wanted to like this video camera. I really did. I ordered it specifically for the fact that it uses generic AA alkaline batteries (aka the batteries you can get at the convenient store up the street and not have to deal with crappy tech support to order an over-priced lithium ion battery replacement). I knew what I was getting. I have had vcams that performed better than this one.

May be great for teens

  • Summary: I bought this for my parents so my dad could whip it out and video his great grandson wrestling. Buttons are way too small for the older crowd, so I had to return it. It almost seemed like a toy. Picture quality may have been good once downloaded, but terrible on the little screen (once again, not good for the older crowd). Also, there wasn't enough room to hold with one hand and video without your fingers getting in the way of the viewfinder.

Disappointing

erisajd, B&H Photo
2 June 2012
  • Excerpt: I am really sorry to have to write a negative review about this camera. It is compact. It takes great HD video (particularly in the 720P setting). The still pics are adequate. It functions great under water. So, what is negative? The movies (.MOV format) cannot be edited in any software that I have. In Sony Vegas Studio 9 the sound and the pictures are not in synch. In Pinnacle HD 14 and in Avid Studio there is no (zero; zip) sound at all. None. Silent movies.
  • Pros: Good movies in 720P
  • Cons: Can't edit the movies, No image stabilization, Poor In Low Light

Buy for short captures only

Art, B&H Photo
26 March 2012
  • Excerpt: The battery life is horrible. Filming for an extended amount of time on HD drains the battery within 20 minutes. Otherwise very good and easy to use. Also, no tripod stand and the bottom has a weird clip that makes it impossible to balance camera standing up (incredibly inconvenient).
  • Pros: Easy to Use, Great Picture Quality, Great Sound
  • Cons: Poor In Low Light
