In conclusion, the ZR960 packs a wealth of features into an entry level camera. With a powerful zoom and easy mode functionality this camcorder is simple enough for the beginner while offering a wealth of features that may possibly intrigue even the most advanced of users. If you don't mind the fact that it doesn't offer the ability to capture video in high definition format then the Canon ZR960 may be the way to go. Read more
There really isn't much to say here that hasn't already been said. Sufficed to say, this camcorder is about the best quality you're going to get for this price range. In fact, you'd pretty much have to double the price to see a noticeable increase in picture quality (at least among digital camcorders I've personally used, which is quite a few). Read more
I needed a replacement for my Canon ZR 60. I have hours of family, friends, etc. recorded on mini DV tapes and needed a way to view and transport them to my computer. I have a brand new zr960. I was playing tapes back using the VTR mode into my computer for editing. After about 2 tapes worth of playback the playback screen just shows blue. No video image at all. I tried to shoot fresh video and play it back immediately in the camera lcd screen. The record seems to be working but when I try to play it back all I get is the blue screen. Any help would be appreciated.

How does this camcorder sync with Windows Movie maker? Is there a better editing software for this camcorder?
