Summary: I mainly bought this camera to transfer tapes from a previous camera to DVD discs. It did the job perfectly! Now I also have a video camera too that I can use to take new videos at a fraction of the cost of a new camera. Very pleased!
Pros: Super easy -- turn it on and record. Records on Mini-DV, or short movies on S-Disk. Show movies on TV, or download from SD to computer. Records for more than an hour with large battery. Use with screen or view finder.
Cons: Not for user seeking HD. Had a hard time using it with tripod.

Summary: This Review is from a previous owner of this Camera I purchased the Canon ZR600 from Best buy back in late 2006 early 2007 originally looking for a camera to do video notes for class then ended up having this camera be my first personal camera used for television broadcast training and practice at home. A bit of Background: I am a legally blind individual I don't have full vision loss, I have more like half the vision of a fully sighted person. E.g.
Summary: This is a basic camcorder with little frills and seems to do its job well. My previous Canon camcorder model stopped being recognized by the computer (I am pretty sure I did it by accidentally plugging the cable backwards into the Firewire port). I needed a new one to continue family videography, and transfer the old tapes over. This one came at at attractive sale price, and did the job.
Summary: This camera was a great buy for the price. Shipping was slower than I would have liked and I would have appreciated a much more detailed description of what was included in the package -but still a good buy.
Summary: Nice camcorder, a little hard to use. dont understand all the instructions. Probably my fault for not being able to read well. there is a lot to remember without looking at the instruction book. The book might be better organized. I like the camcorder.
