Summary: Great camcorder, bought new 6 yrs. ago and loved it. The only downside is the vast tape collection that I will eventually transfer. A note to buyers; you must have battery charger/AC adapter for proper use.
Summary: The reason I wanted this camcorder was because I gave my more updated one to my daughter in Washington to take movies of the grandkids. I am very pleased that this machine matches the other in quality, so we can just send films back and forth. All the extras were included. I'm very pleased.
Summary: This is a good camcorder. It records great video and audio however it has only a limited number hours of useful life. It is not a real hardy piece of equipment. More for the occasional home movie user. For its price, its probably a pretty good value.
Summary: This is a great camera. Very portable size, nice to hold in the hand. I have to use newer MiniDV tapes for the best quality, as old/used ones occasionally have pixelation after importing to my computer via firewire. Otherwise, this is a great camera, and the audio quality is very good due to the dual stereo microphones. This camera is very simple to operate, and I am very pleased with it overall.
Summary: I've used this camera in the past for micro, macro, landscape and portrait shots. The image stabilizer works really well to reduce blur, even at distant and high zoom shots. The lens captures more area, allowing me to forgo using a wide angle lens. Despite low pixelation, I've had good results enlarging images withoout losing too much sharpness. You can't do too much better under $500 for a camera of this quality.
Summary: Pros: Light, easy to use, sound quality is excellent, zoom is nice and smooth to watch, not choppy like the old days. Cons: Backlighting is dark indoors, but I just turn on more lights in the room I'm filming in. This works fine. I can't seem to find ant more cons than that. I hope this review helps!
Summary: Camera did not work due to hung up cassette door. Could not insert new tape. Also battery was not included so could only run from AC adapter. Found same camera on Craigs list and ordered it. Will use the Ebay one for parts.
Summary: The Canon Vixia HF 200 is my second camcorder but my first digital camera. It is amazingly small and lightweight -- but what is astounding is the ability to record several hours of video and/or photos on the tiny flashcard! The picture details, color reproduction, and sound fidelity are superb.
