Summary: The camera did not work properly. All the tapes played, including the one that was left in the camcorder by the seller, skipped upon playing. I ended up borrowing a friend's camcorder and all of my tapes played just fine. Therefore, I have to conclude this particular camcorder was defective. Hopefully the seller will refund my purchase $.
Picture isn't very sharp, there are better options

Summary: After returning a defective Sony Handycam (audio playback was broken), we opted for the Canon because it had a good combination of features and price. We especially liked the built-in ability to convert from our old analog video cameras. However, we were disappointed that our first few videos were not very crisp played back on the TV. The video quality was soft, kind of blah, and almost looked like there was some kind of blur feature (there wasn't).
Summary: I bought this and owned it for two days. Its a decent MiniDV but you can do better at this price! Noise was a major issue. The motor is just loud and it gets picked up in quiet scenes pretty bad. Other than that the video recorded was of real good quality. But there was an issue with something going on when inserting a tape. It wasn't ejecting properly for some odd reason.
Summary: Per the manufact..."The ZR100 features both a DV terminal (IEEE 1394 or Firewire) and USB terminal for connection to a DV-compatible computer or another DV-camcorder" LIE LIE LIE. Sorry but I don't want to install the firewire so back to the store it goes as in the instruction book there is NO reference to a USB cable. nor is there any plug to plug one into...lie lie lie.
