Excerpt: This camera is very small. It was purchased as the first camera for the church media ministries. It is easy to use it does have some bells and whistles like professional cameras but it does not feel like you are using a professional camera.
Excerpt: I have yet to shoot an actual event with this camera but in all my test shooting so far so good. The rattle noise it makes is concerning. May end up being an issue worthy of returning. After hearing the noise I did a search and it seems to be an ongoing issue in some of these cameras.
Decent camcorder but the newer models are much better

Summary: We bought the XA10 for its XLR functionality since we wanted professional audio. But if you are shopping for something, we'd recommend going with the newer XA20 or XA25. They have better sensors and the touch menu is much more responsive. The XA10 menu response is very slow and obnoxious. If you don't need the XLR functionality, go with the Canon HF G20 or G30. They are exactly the same camcorder as the XA20 and XA25, minus the XLR function.
Excerpt: Used the XA10 to shoot over lighted new car introductions at auto shows and other venues. Found the XA10 was slow to adjust color exposure under various lighting conditions as the stage is panned. Used both automatic, worst and manual but still slow.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Image Stabilization, Large Clear LCD
Excerpt: I love the small sleek size and the nice clear picture. Also great to have a removable handle and multiple mic inputs. However, all of the controls are on a touch screen that is not nearly as responsive as I am used to with a smart phone. Wouldn't recommend this for anyone who will be changing settings frequently, especially in the middle of shoots.
Pros: Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great Picture Quality, Great Zoom, Zoom range/performance
Excerpt: This camcorder has wonderful HD video quality and super fast autofocus but the audio XLR preamp handle attachment feels like it was an after thought and is not of very high quality, it has a high noise floor! I heard a constant hiss whenever I used it with an XLR mic plugged in to the XLR port.
Pros: Good Image Stabilization, Great Picture Quality
Excerpt: I bought this camera after doing some pretty extensive research. The deciding factor for me was looking at comparison video on Youtube between this camera and the 105: they are completely comparable. So, for [$] this camera will deliver incredible HD images. It is light as a feather so that makes it a great camera for docs, and can be mounted to any number of steady cam devices.
Pros: Great Picture Quality, Lightweight
Cons: Complicated To Operate, On-screen Menu System
Excerpt: I'm using the camera to shoot a documentary. The things that are great about it are, first off, it's size. This is why I purchased the camera, shooting a documentary has gotten more and more difficult these days. If you have a camera that draws attention, many times you'll be shut down. The XA10 can be scaled down to a very small footprint. It puts out an amazing picture, and uses either it's internal hard drive, which at 64gigs is ample, or affordable cards.
Pros: Good in Low Light, Great Picture Quality, Size
Excerpt: I ordered this camera new based on reviews and my experience with Canon products. Unfortunately I had a simply unbelieveably poor experience with Adorama. Though I ordered NEW, I was sent a USED camera. Then the sales person had the unmitigated gall to suggest I return it and he would get me a new camera.
