When I was reading all the reviews of this camera I was all exited about buying one. This camera does not disappoint. It delivers outstanding video. Another cool thing that I love is that it has a 60 gig HDD in it. All you have to do is go into the HDD of your camcorder via the USB cable and drag and drop your videos onto your computer. Canon VIXIA HG20 Camcorder 5 You can not base your review of the camera only on the editing software that comes with the camera. All HD camera's come with just basic editing software which do not take advantage of hardware. I purchased this camera 2 weeks ago, connect directly to my HD 65" and the picture is incredible. No tapes! Records right to harddrive. Picture quality is excellent. There's even an "easy button" literally. You can't screw up even if its your first time using a camcorder. If you want to use manual controls, there are many, including aperature, exposure, focus, white balance, etc. There are two negatives.....The manual focus is controled with a joystick instead of a focus ring and it's tough to be smooth and acurate.
