Summary: If you're a Mac user, make sure you read up on the issues people are having trying to upload video! I wish I had know what a nightmare it was going to be-- I would NOT have purchased this camera.
Summary: I was excited to have this camcorder, but had to return back. Everything seams as expected except there was some visible and irritating flickering. It also takes 350 mb of space to store just 15 minutes of video. So I have decided to buy tape based camcorder and have ordered Canon HV 30.
Summary: As a sound engineer I am interested in sound quality first. I do not know much about video. When I picked up my HG10 from B&H video the first thing I did was testing what I can do with audio files. Apparently, HG10 creates about 2GB files in size which cannot be combined seamlessly in post production editor.
Summary: For a $1700 RRP product to not even supply a shoulder/neck strap is a bit stingy. European models are supplied. Why?
Pros: Sharp lens, good colour reproduction. Good resolution in normal lighting conditions.
Cons: Is anyone aware that if you shoot 999 takes the camera will not function unless you delete scenes or download the contents of the hard drive to a PC and reformat? I found out the hard way buying the camera for an overseas holiday. the camera was set on XP or second highest quality mode supposedly giving me 9 hours + of shooting time. Four hours and 22 minutes into the disc the camera tells me download or delete despite displaying 4+ hours remaining disc time. Being in...
