Summary: I don't have anything to say about the other aspects of this product yet but I ran into trouble using the two highest speed modes (MXP and FXP) with a Class 10 SDHC flash card which should have been plenty fast enough. I found a solution which should help solve this problem and wanted to share it with other owners. Canon has a firmware update for the problem.
Excerpt: I'm a film student who has experience with Consumer, Prosumer, and Professional Cameras. I bought this camera about 9 months ago to replace my broken Canon HG10 which had seen a bit too much heavy use. I bought the HF200 as a sort of interim camera to get projects and work done until I could afford my next camera.
Summary: While it worked, it is a decent camcorder. Good image under good light. Grainy image under low light. Not very good sound if you are in a slightly crowded setting with ambient noise (like a classroom). We used it for recording classroom settings. The image is clear, but does not look very real. Whether it is played on the computer or various HD TV, the image looked like what sometimes a lousy HD TV image look out. A bit washed out.
Summary: This is my second Canon Camcorder . . I wanted the HD . . LOVE the remote and use it all the time . . The only thing that is a negative is Canon is NOT Mac friendly . . . I get things to work . . just not as fluently as I would like . . .
Summary: Great little camcorder that performs well in most conditions. Battery life is Ok but you will need more than 1 for an all day event. The biggest disappointment is that it will not recognize a class 10 sdhc card as shipped. The firmware has to be updated and that can't be done by the consumer, only by a service center.
Summary: Bought this one to replace an identical model that was dropped salt water! It was just as advertised, practaclly brand new and in perfect working order. It is a outstanding camera and I strongly recommend this model.
Great to capture all moments, spoken and acted out. Wonderful ...EVERYTHING

Summary: I changed to a Canon from a 5 year old Sony. Love THIS Camcorder. Have not yet downloaded movies to computer and have to say I'm a bit intimidated about it, but overall I think this camera is great. I have the wide angle lens(extra piece) and can't take it off, love the depth and width of shots. Camcorder/camera performs wonderfully, easy to hold, light-weight enough while still feeling like your holding a well-made electronic.
