Canon Vixia HF11

CNET

  • Summary: Like its sibling the HF10, Canon's flash-based Vixia HF11 delivers excellent HD video quality and performance in a tiny package. However, the HF11 delivers a bit more value for its lower price.
  • Pros: Excellent video quality; fast focus; compact, attractive, and comfortable design.
  • Cons: Wind filter not as dependable as previous Canon models; manual focus pretty useless.

  • Conclusion: A grand don’t come for free but this Canon is worth every penny. Progressive, maximum bit-rate Full HD and Blu-ray burning makes the HF11 about as future-proof as you could wish for.
  • Pros: This Dual Flash camcorder is the king of Canon’s range, and comes appropriately dripping with glittering features. At its heart beats a 3.3MP CMOS sensor that pumps Full HD video through the veins of its gorgeously petite 380g body. The HF11 boasts the highest possible bit-rate of AVC-HD recording (24Mbps) for gloriously vivid and detailed movies, especially in its 25p progressive Cinema mode. Stereo Dolby Digital sound is fairly regal, too. The stabilised 12x zoom le...
  • Cons: The HF11’s joystick controller is no match for the thumb dials and multi-rings found on rival camcorders. And that four-figure price comes with a dose of sticker shock – you’ll get images that are very nearly as good from Panny’s HS100 or Sony’s SR12, plus more storage and a wodge of cash left over.

  • Summary: Today's camcorders are to their VHS-era forebears what Tasers are to the flintlock pistols of old. The image quality, bells and whistles and pure usability make the bang for your buck better than it has ever been. And there is perhaps no more storied camcorder company than Canon , makers of the legendary XL-1. With the VIXIA HF11, Canon's designers have built on the earlier HF10's capabilities, doubling the former's 16GB memory capacity and a 24Mbps shooting mode.

Canon VIXIA HF11 1080p High Definition Video Camera

Secrets of Home Theater and High Fidelity

  • Summary: The Canon HF11 is a superb high definition video camera. It takes great videos, even in poor lighting, and is small enough to carry in your pocket. At $1,199 MSRP it is not the cheapest HD video camera out there, but it is certainly one of the best in terms of the price to performance ratio.

A case of deja vu.

  • Summary: If you already own the HF10, there is next to no reason to make the switch to the HF11. Everyone else, on the other hand, would do well to seek this camcorder out.
  • Pros: Exceptionally sharp image quality, lots of manual features, improved 24Mbps bit rate
  • Cons: Too similar to previous model, joystick ill-suited to manual control

  • Conclusion: It’s very clear that the HF11 is the result of Canon having listened to the needs of many users in order to produce a high definition camcorder that ticks just about all the boxes on the list. We asked for an external microphone and Canon has delivered. We wanted to plug in our headphones in order to monitor recordings and Canon has delivered. The maximum data rate afforded by the AVCHD specification is 24Mbps, so Canon takes it right to the limit.

Canon HF11

  • Pros: Bardzo dobra jakość obrazu, Dobry autofokus i stabilizacja, Stosunkowo mała i lekka
