Summary: This camcorder takes great quality videos, however this is the hardest camcorder to get images transferred over from. The tech support are friendly when you have an issue, but then refer you to a local computer repair shop or store to fix your issues. The software disc did not work on my computer. It was choppy when I went to deleted videos which led to me accidentally erasing all my images. For $500 I expected a lot more.
Summary: I was a fan of canon and this is my first review, but sadly this camera isn't worth the money. it has such nasty gain that i am returning it. sasve your money- this is useless crap... sorry canon but never again.
Conclusion: Even in a brightly lit room, the video is so grainy it is almost useless. I cannot recommend for any kind of indoor use. Luckily, I have studio quality lighting (will cost many hundreds of $$) and I can make do with it in a fixed location. Outdoors with good daylight, it is fine as well. Your indoor lighting could be bright to your eyes, but if it is anything less than cool-white, the video is very grainy. Most of have around 3000K (incandescent).
Pros: Compact Design, Ergonomic/comfortable to hold, easy to add more memory
Summary: This camera is great for people who just want to capture a memory and don't want to think about settings, but if you need to match footage from several cameras, look elsewhere. I'm a professional videographer and I needed a couple of cameras that I didn't have to worry about bringing into a smokey bar or leaving on a tripod unmanned.
Summary: Bought this to shoot game film for my son's varsity soccer games. Paired with a sturdy Benbo tripod and the EI-717A fluid head = great films. Shoot a game in MP4 at 24Mbps = 12-14GB Five minutes to copy to a game from the SDXC card to my son's USB 3.0 thumb drive. Coach likes DVDs so I import from card to iPhoto, drag and drop clips into 1DVD Pro, burn DVD. Entire process takes 60-70 minutes so they have game film next morning.
Summary: I love this camera! So let's break it down because there is a reason I gave it 4 stars. Pros: Beautiful picture quality Lives up to the Canon reputation. So worth the money! Great still shots that don't interrupt video footage Lightweight Pretty good battery life Lots of memory space. LOTS. Great audio for playback Baby Mode=pure genius Cons: VERY hard to figure out how to load. Really, Canon?
Summary: We bought this camera for video blogging and family movie making. I was surprised that picture quality is so good when I shoot the ocean with the direct sunlight. It looks magnificent! I am yet to find out the low-light quality. Stabilization is excellent, HD quality is just incredible. I love this camcorder.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Image Stabilization, Great Picture Quality, Great Sound, Zoom range/performance
Summary: I have read reviews froma few tech sites and from Amazon. I was expecting premium quality considering the price. The Camcorder is lightweight, SD card is easy to insert while on, has touch screen. Appears of cheap quality and the image recorded at default has a grainy picture. I found putting the Camcorder in "Cinematic" mode offers the best quality although the brightness is lowered a bit and doesnt record at the max quality available.
