Summary: I had been using a camera that needed mini DV's to film basketball games that I then make into highlight videos for my former grade school. This camera works perfectly for what I need (quick zoom, descent quality picture, and no more film)! It was also incredibly important for me that it would work with iMovie and it does with ease. I just plug in the camera, set it to view, and iMovie recognizes it right away. Great so far!
Summary: My son (9 years old) uses this camera on a daily basis to make movies. The picture and sound quality is quite good and you do not hear any noise when using the zoom in/out feature during recording like some other cameras.
Summary: I produce a lot of independent films and shoot videos on the road (band interviews.) This has a headphone jack which is a must for all professional/serious videographers and a 3.5.mm headphone jack. I was contemplating on getting this since it was refurbished but it's perfect for what I do. The Canon lens on it is incredible and the zoom range is great! Auto-focus, white balance, exposure, this camera has everything (except XLR Cables) a $10,000 camera would cost.
Summary: took a bit of wrangling for me to get this video camera up and running, but I have it connected to my Mackbook Pro. after I did the latest upgrade for iMovie, which happened to waiting to download, it worked after a few tries...I had also downloaded some free software that seemed like a good approach too, so being the technical prodigy that i am, Im really not 100% sure which one did it, ibut I think its having iMovie '11 or later.
Summary: This is a great video camera and can't be beat for the price. I picked this up as a refurb for less than $200. I plan to buy at least one more if not two more. Don't waste your money on the expensive Canon big Batteries. Shop around on amazon and buy a few cheap ones that last just as long if not longer.
Summary: Picture is good, easy to use...............the only complaint I have is it is so small, I have problems with shaky videos. Thinking about getting a short camera stick to mount it on. I am glad I purchased it.
Summary: This was my second HD camcorder purchase. My first was made in 2009, but now I've been wanting to upgrade to some newer, better technology. This camcorer has certainly delivered! Great crisp image quality, and the manual features really allow you to enhance the quality even further. I've listed some pros and cons, as well as some tips below...
