Summary: I am currently unable to download all of the files from the built in memory (will download all but the last file at this time). This is a new problem. The manual is practically worthless. I presume the SD cards must be removed and downloaded through a card reader but the manual doesn't tell you that. For a long time, all of my downloaded videos failed to play back correctly. I bought converter programs and converted to three other formats and that did not seem to work.
Summary: I am a video professional, and I do own a Pro-sumer model Panasonic that I am very happy with. Problem is the Panasonic cost me close to 2Gs so I wanted a second camera to take out on family informal events, that could also double as a second HD camera for my business. Now of course I wasn't expecting the same picture quality ect. and that is not my issue. To sum it up this camera cannot hold a focus and is useless even for home movies, let alone anything more.
Summary: Took beautiful videos for about 7 weeks. After two months, the unit wouldn't turn off. I had to remove the battery to turn it off. Eventually, the camera would turn itself off whenever the zoom or record button was touched. I emailed Amazon and explained that it was defective and would like to have it replaced free of charge, but was told there would be a less than full refund due to it being beyond the 30 day return policy. I was referred to Canon.
