Summary: This saves files in an unusable format for Macs. You have to get an app to convert files just so you can use your Mac to edit the movies. Keep looking unless you are a PC (in which case you may need more help than just buying a video camera).
Summary: THIS IS A GREAT CAM CORDER..HAD IT A FEW YEARS AND IT NEVER HAD A PROBLEM OF ANY SORT, ALL FEATURES WORK AND FUNCTION AND DELIVER CRISP VIDEO, AND SOUND I REALLY AM VERY SATISFIED WITH THIS CAMCORDER AND A FEW OF MY FRIENDS ALSO PURCHASED THIS ITEM AND THEY RATE IT 5 STARS ALSO
Summary: I admit I am no techie - if you are not a computer genius do NOT buy this camera or any like it. It is completely impossible to understand any of the symbols, I don't know what any of the buttons are for, I don't know what the code words mean, and I cannot upload any videos. I hate it. Yes I read the manual. You need to buy additional software apparently if you want to be able to edit because the software it comes with is useless.
Summary: I don't really have any complaints about the camera itself. The video quality is fine and for the novice videographer that I am it did the job. My complaint is this: I have misplaced the software that it came with to load the files and unfortunately, there is no other software out there that is able to get the files from the camera to the computer for any editing whatsoever. I don't even know what the file type .cdi is...
Cons: AUDIO! This camera has a 'clicking' noise that can be heard when in 'auto-focus' mode. The camera ships out from the factory with this obvious DEFECT? I'm amazed Canon would ship a product with an obvious defect issue like this... a major FLAW!
Summary: This is my first video camera and it makes me want to throw it off of a very high cliff and then jump myself. Looks great, but you will quickly notice that it makes an annoying chirping sound which also shows up on the recording. And if you ever want to download it to a format that you can share with others, good luck. I have been trying for MONTHS and cannot figure it out. And I consider myself fairly technologically savvy.
