Easy to use, produces beautiful video, and it's been reliable for me.

Summary: I purchased the M500 new at the end of 2012. I own a few GoPro HD cameras, but I wanted something better for when I wasn't strapping a camera to my helmet or to a moving vehicle. I wasn't sure if it would be worth the money to buy the Canon or any similar product versus just using a GoPro with a handle and an LCD screen add-on. The first time I uploaded some footage to my computer I was immediately convinced that I had made the right decision.
Takes great movies and it is a great complement to my DSLR

Summary: This review is way out of date. There are newer, better models out now. I just want to say that even though you can buy a camera that does both stills and movies you get the best results when you have separate cameras for each. I own this and a Canon Rebel t4i. The lens and detector requirements are very different for stills and movies.
Summary: The camcorder is small, light and easily portable while easy to operate. The videos taken were in full HD and very clean while the daylight photos were exceptional. I use it a lot to shoot pictures as it is really quick. If you are concerned about about depth of field then this is certainly not adjustable. A good memory card like the transend 32 GB Class 10 card which I have is recommended.
Summary: Great all-around video camera. I'm not going to go through all the features, but one of the things I was specifically looking for was 24p recording. If this is something you're interested in, READ CAREFULLY: This camera gives you a "fake" 24p. The playback will *appear* to be 24p (which may be all you're interested in anyway), but if you want to do any editing using Premiere you'll quickly find out that ALL video clips are recorded to the SD card in 30p (including the...
Summary: I own this camera and am a video professional who needed a "B" or "C" camera for shoots. I even bought the camera thru AMAZON. Please note that I also have many other reviews, many critical of junk, on Amazon. This video-camera, for the cost, is an amazing camera capable of producing high quality HD video (AVCHD) that could be incorporated into many professional video projects.
Summary: this has a useful set of features for me, making it useful to record training videos at work; the files are divided as it records, but they are easy to assemble in my Adobe Premiere editing software. I did get a wide angle adapter, however, since the field of view is not as wide as I would have liked.
Summary: This is my 4th camcorder over the past 25 years or so and I have to inform you.. If your looking for a camcorder that takes breath taking video's than this may be the one for you. When I play back on my Sony HDTV, its like your actually there. The touch screen took me a little while to get used to however, now its second nature. Make sure you get the class 10 memory card. Your talking large files if you keep your setting at 24p or 12p.
Summary: this camera is the holy grail of affordable cameras. I highly recommend this camera if your budget shopping for camcorders. I did SO much research on every brand within a 500 dollar price range and I took a gamble with this thing and came out on top. only thing is low level light conditions indoors picture looks a little grainy, but EVERY camera under 800 dollars will look like this no matter what anyone says. the quality of the recordings are awsome. check out [...
Summary: I was hesitating between this camera and the Sony 260V. I recently bought Sony phone with 12 MP camera and HD capability but was very much disappointed, and as we say, once bitten twice shy I did not want to fall in this disappointment again. I bout this camera for less, and I am very happy I made this decision the camera is perfect in taking videos in HD, and for those who claim the battery does not last, it worked with me for more than 120 minutes at single full charge...
