Summary: The Bad: When I first picked up the camera, I was disappointed at the weight and feel. I'm sorry to say this camera does feel a little cheap. I like that it is light, but it kind of resembles the feel of a toy. I'm also no used to a LCD door that doesn't lock into place. If you carry it just by the "strap alone" (lightly swinging) the screen will eventually flip open. Also it is true (previous reviews) that the screen is no use in the "direct" sunlight.
Summary: I bought this based on the reviewsi read on Amazon. I was NOT disappointed! Love the quality of the video recordings. The size is so very compact that it can fit easily in my purse. I recommend this camcorder.
Summary: Overly proud of myself right now. We got the Canon m50 camcorder for recording tomorrows outing but I was worried about the battery running out while we were shooting. Best Buy wanted $100 for a replacement standard battery and Canon sells their extended battery is $130! There isn't a portable battery pack available at the correct voltage either.
Summary: I love this camera. I gave 4 instead of 5 stars because I need to use a pen to do the touch screen and the battery life is only two hours. I had to spent another $100 to buy the 3-hour spare battery. The camcorder records great quality movies under low light. The zoom 10x is sufficient for me. I was able to zoom the video from 30 feet away. I am not shooting any wild life and do not need to shoot 1 mile away. The camcorder is small and fits right inside my purse.
Summary: Excellent image quality Easy operation I have not used it much, but so for it seems like a good camera. The only issue is the external microphone is subject to electrical interference. First noticed it when I plugged it into my TV. Had to use a different HDMI port to eliminate the feedback. Second time was on the recording itself. I had the camera sitting in front of an LCD monitor and it created a terrible noise through the entire recording.
Summary: Using for school events. Pretty good for the price. We'll keep it, I think. Picture is good although not great in low-light. Sound is surprisingly good (perhaps the flash memory helps due to no moving parts). No viewfinder, but who relies on that anyway? The wi-fi uses FTP and so far I have not figured out how to interface it with my Apple macintosh computer, so I have to use the cable instead. Probably there's a way, but I've not invested the time yet to research it.
Summary: Ill give it a 4 because it has no flash, it has real good capabilities in the dark just as everyone else has said. Especially if its on the "dream" setting. I found that it was the best for low light situations .for maximum resolution set it to avchd mode not mp4, set to iether 30p or 60i (60i better for skating or sports) and mxp for best image results. You may need to turn off (AUTO SHUTTER) if it looks glitchy .
Summary: I was looking for an HD camcorder that was less than $1000 and good in low light. This camcorder does an excellent job in low light, and has a mini hot shoe that can attach lights and other accessories as well.
Summary: The low light quality if very good. The built in mic produces good sound. The included battery could be a bit larger or give the camera more time. While the 10X zoom is lower than some of the other cameras out there the large lens gives great quality at all zoom levels especially in low indoor light.
Summary: Built with quality materials. Solid, not flimsy or cheap in feel or operation. Excellent low light performance. Easy to operate in auto mode but you really need to read the manual to get the most out of it (as with all products, but most don't). Didn't give 5 stars because Canon should have included a viewfinder in this product line. Need a viewfinder for filming in full sun. The LCD screen is difficult to see in sunny settings.
