Summary: Check the motor noise before buying We had the previous version of this camera. The motor noise was so loud it is impossible to watch the videos. When we contacted canon we were told this was normal. External mikes add bulk and cost.
Excerpt: The Canon MV650i is part of the MV600 range. It's the top model and is packed with loads of features. It's recording methood is Mini DV which produce fantastic quality film. The camera itself is very small and compact and very lightweight.
Excerpt: I have wanted a Camcorder for about 12 months but I am the sort of person who feels nervous about buying these sort of things on impulse. I did a lot of research reading as many articles as possible, getting the feel of the hardware in my local electrical retailers and making decisions as to what...
Pros: Extremely easy to use, superb value, Superb lens with powerful zoom capabilities
Summary: I have to say I was disapointed by this purchase. This camera is TERRIBLE in low-light conditions. The "colour night vision" is a complete con, its unwatchable. Even inside a room with the lights on at night, its grainy.
Summary: I have never owned or even used a camcorder before so I spent a long time deciding which digital camcorder was the best for the money I had to spend. I decided on a Canon as I had been informed on good authority that the lenses were very good.
Summary: I spent ages researching camcorders and finally bought the MV650i. It is a super device, quite small but still perfectly usable by someone with largish hands (some of the upright camcorders are just too small). Screen and viewfinder are both good, and the 22x zoom is fantastic!
Excerpt: I have been the proud owner of MV550i Digital Camcorder for just over a year and it has proved to be well up to the tasks I expect of it. This was my first camcorder purchase and it was chosen on recommendation of the shop assistant as well as with Canon’s reputation in mind.
Pros: Good build quality, great results and easy to use
Summary: My first camcorder purchase, after a little research this camera had just the right sort of options for me. A shop assistant told me that Canon lenses are very good, and the night modes were what I needed for underground filming.
Summary: I have no complaints, everything seems to work. I don't know about the image stabiliser - have not tested it. No noticeable zoom noise on the film. The only regret that is creeping up on me is firstly why I paid more for the MV650i than going for the MV600i.
Summary: This is my first digital camera and I am very pleased with it. Easy to use for simple point and shoot stuff, will work great for holiday antics. Picture is very clear. Also allows for more complex stuff with a range of different Exposure settings.
