Canon VIXIA HF100 measures (WxHxD) 2.9 x 2.5 x 5.1 in (73x64x129mm) and weighs (not including lens and battery pack) 13.4 oz (380g). Canon VIXIA HF100 allows user to record AVCHD (Advanced Video Codec High Definition) format videos. The AVCHD uses an MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) video codec, recording true 1080 High Definition resolution video and this format captures twice as much video using less storage.

The Canon VIXIA HF100 features a 3.3 Megapixel Full HD CMOS sensor and advanced DIGIC DV II Image Processor, SuperRange Optical Image Stabilization, Instant Auto Focus, our 2.7" Wide screen Multi-Angle Vivid LCD and the Canon 12x HD video zoom lens. The Canon VIXIA HF100 is designed with a 1/3.2" 3.3 Megapixel Full HD CMOS image sensor to capture 1920x1080 High Definition video. The Canon VIXIA HF100’s CMOS’s high color resolution and advanced color reproduction produce sharper and clearer images.

The Canon DIGIC DV II Image Processor is designed specifically for HD and ensures optimal image quality. DIGIC DV II Image Processor uses a hybrid noise reduction system that employs two types of noise reduction — for high definition images that are crystal clear. Canon DIGIC DV II Image Processor features improved continuous shooting of digital photographs with the VIXIA HF100. Users can shoot five (3.1 Megapixel) still images per second, and also helps to lower power consumption for longer battery life. This camcorder also allows users to choose various types of modes such as 24p Cinema Mode and 30p Progressive Mode. The 2.7"Multi-Angle Vivid Wide screen LCD on the Canon VIXIA HF100 allows user to see more of what the camcorder is recording.
