AVCHD format. Very good quality videos, BUT demands a high power computer

  • Summary: This camcorder is incredibly good! The videos are as clear as those News cast videos!... YES you heard me right! The quality is unbelievably clear! But GOTTA have an HD TV. It handles the low light really good and has built in lights, NICE! What I like too is the built in 3.1 mp snapshot camera feature, with a flash! All this in one! The software it came with is simple to use! It's easy to make DVDs with it.

Good purchase for Canon quality

Overstock
24 October 2009
  • Summary: Bought this from Overstock as a refurbished product, but the camera looked like it was brand new. Happy with the purchase and Overstock's customer service. I bought this specifically for upgrading from a Panasonic PV-GS320 3 cdd camera, which admittedly was a great camera. I wanted to upgrade from standard def to high def and I've always trusted Canon's products. Also it seems that mini-dv, although great for archival purposes, is somewhat of a dying breed.

outstanding; perfect match to HD plasma

  • Summary: I am a casual user of the video camera and I use it to record family events and footage of wildlife while hunting. The HF10 is a convenient size and offers alot of features in a small package. The joystick control on the screen was intimidating at first, but is proving to be pretty convenient as I get more familiar with it. Although I wish the camera had a viewfinder, I can't really complain yet about use of the screen.
  • Pros: Great Features, Great Picture Quality, Great Sound, Simple Controls, Versatile
  • Cons: Low quailty in low light, Uncomfortable

Solid cam at a good price

  • Summary: Great performance in adequate light. Low-light performance could be better, but it's still a great cam to shoot HD footage of the family, etc. Pretty easy to operate right out of the box. It's a small cam, so those with large hands might find it a big difficult to handle. However, the small size makes it nice for travel. It comes with a wrist strap that's tiny, so add your own to be comfortable. Does not operate if the viewscreen is closed, which is a little unfortunate.
  • Pros: Great Picture Quality, Simple Controls
  • Cons: Might be too small
