Summary: Good camcorder and not expensive. I do not spare that bought. Thank you ebay. In a shop I such did not pull at. Клёвая камера и не дорого. Я не жалею что купил. Спасибо ebay-ю. В магазине я б такую не потянул.
Just a good all around camcorder that lacks the'joystick' for the LCD.

Summary: I bought my camcorder used and it needs a little cleaning. The les cover only shuts half way most of the time so I will have to be careful not to ruin the lens. Other than that it works well and captures motion without a hitch. The stabilizer feature is great. I film a lot of horses and it can get pretty shaky without that feature or a tri-pod. It didn't come with a manual or software so I am winging it until I get around to downloading or ordering one or both.
AVCHD format. Very good quality videos, BUT demands a high power computer

Summary: This camcorder is incredibly good! The videos are as clear as those News cast videos!... YES you heard me right! The quality is unbelievably clear! But GOTTA have an HD TV. It handles the low light really good and has built in lights, NICE! What I like too is the built in 3.1 mp snapshot camera feature, with a flash! All this in one! The software it came with is simple to use! It's easy to make DVDs with it.
I have made up my mind, i am moving away from Canon
Animon Jose "Ani", Amazon

Summary: Canon HF-10 was recommended by lot of people in this site, that plus the canon brand was good enough for me when took the plunge about 3 years back. I had issues with this right from the beginning, but it was mostly because of the lack of AVCHD support and the substandard software canon ship with this product. for about an year, i could not play it on my otherwise decent computer. so i finally had to purchase a new computer so i could play the MTS files.
Summary: I paid a little over $300 for this camera (HF10, not 100) used here on Amazon. The low light capabilities, as can be expected for any camera in this class, are not great. The only way to get great low light footage is to buy an expensive pro camcorder or DSLR which come with much larger sensors. That said, if you mess around with the settings, you can usually find something that works well enough. If you're making home movies, this shouldn't really be a problem.
Broken zoom switch!!!!!!! Very common problem, no help from Canon
14 November 2011
Summary: I bought this camera new less than two years ago. worked great for about a year. Now the zoom switch is broken and it cannot hold a zoom position -- very annoying problem. I've read about this online, and it turns out that it is a problem that many, many, many people have had. Apparently Canon offers to fix it for ~$250, a steep price considering that this is a design flaw. I emailed Canon customer service, no response.
Summary: The video quality is excellent, but it couldn't charge! I bought it without battery and charger for $177 a few weeks ago. I bought a Canon geniune BP808 battery (takes 10 days) and a Canon power adapter, the battery couldn't be charged. I returned the battery. Then I bought another Canon BP808 battery, it works properly, but still refused to be charged. Putting it on other Canon camcorder, everything was OK. So, the trouble comes from THIS Canon HF10. How should I do?
Summary: The image quality is awesome, but some things bother me: -the zoom trigger is VERY fragile. It broke after a couple months of use and the camera zooms simultaneously and it gets REALLY annoying! Apparently Canon thinks that this isn't a product defect and consider it as a "wear and tear" issue. Blah.. BS. I had a lower model of this model year (Canon FS11, which was stolen) and that had the same exact problem with it's zoom trigger.
