Summary: I bought this camcorder as a 4th (HF S) series HD capture device for shooting weddings. I love the 8.0MP full HD CMOS sensor with a large lens that allows more light than a consumer camera and provides great video footage.
Summary: This is a solid performing camera. Takes up to a 32gb SDHC card. Allows manual control of many features which is very nice. Picture quality is quite good. Battery life with the BP-819 battery is about 3 hours.
Higher speed memory is not better for this product

Summary: If you want to record in full HD, you need a specific speed memory card. FASTER does not work. It only recognizes the maximum speed available in 2008. Above that speed you can only record at 720. Not the end of the world but don't figure to use full HD.

Summary: I purchased this camcorder to do underwater HD video along with an Ikelite housing and Ikelite video light. I then started using it on my vacation trips to do above water HD videos as well as underwater shoots and was so impressed with the results that I wanted to post this review!
