Summary: I already have one of these, and I needed another for a two camera shoot. I have used these cameras for short films, vlogs, and for filming promo videos for companies in my area. As an up-and-coming videographer, I recommend this camera for someone who can't afford the big professional cameras. They are good for full 1080p HD videography, and are easy to learn and use. The touch screen is a really nice feature.
Summary: The camcorder has been super fantastic. I've been traveling a lot with it and it has survived some pretty rough conditions. I purchased a Rode VideoMic Directional Video Condenser Microphone w/Mount and a wide angle lens with it. Amazing for something compact and travel.
Summary: I bought this for indoor use, and for the price I've never seen a better quality camera for indoor/lowlight use. The camera is easy to set up, and its auto adjustments are near perfect. I didn't like the touch screen at first, but have since come to love how easy it is to do the basic things you do a lot when your working with a handheld camera.
Summary: Its the best. Espicially facinated by the compact size and quality of it. Even the vendor was kind enough to ship it soon and also address my concerns very promptly. i basically bought this for video but always had skipticism at the back of my mind because incase i take pictures, it would come up only 3 Mega pixel. But i realized that pixel is just for extra clarity but the real thing that matters is the lens.
Summary: If we are talking about digital camcorders this is first one. Very light, small, but this you can tell about any of new camcorders like that. Touch screen is cool and useful, but maybe people with very big fingers have to try it first somewhere before buy thru internet. 32 gb memory is great! Canon provides some program (for PC) to work with videos, but right now I m using Mac's iMovie and iDVD. Somebody had a problems with watching movie in HD.
Summary: This camera is outstanding for the price. It provides very nice, clear picture quality, and there is plenty of forums and support sites outside of canon for all aspects from video to audio help. There are only 3 things that are a minor pain. First, the touch screen takes a little getting used to. I don't know if there is a way to change the sensitivity, but mine is very slow at responding and when it does it moves really fast.
