Conclusion: Shot with this camera Saturday March 29 in Alabama. Cold Wet rainy, dirty dusty muddy, with rocks fying at it at 80+ mph. Camera was hit twice and knocked out of my hand. it rolled several times and bounced off a couple rocks. I own hammer down Productions filming and we shoot rock racing southern style and all other types of racing as well. This camera performed flawlessly with the BP -828 extend battery. Picked it up, brushed it off and started working no problems.
Pros: durability, function, ease of use in auto mode, perfect picture quality, durability again
Excerpt: I purchased the G30 as a B camera to go with a Canon XA-20 that I use for shooting concert performances at a music venue. The optics and recording capabilities of the two cameras are identical. The G30 is static mounted and controlled via Wi-Fi, and because I only need the on-camera mic to record audio in the room that will be replaced by the mix from the recording console, there is no need for the XLR inputs and other niceties offered on the XA-20 in this...
Pros: Easy to Use, Good autofocus, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great Picture Quality, Great Zoom, Useful Program Modes
Summary: The G30 produces very sharp hd videos. The lens is very sharp with few signs of distortion. Its many options can seem confusing at first, but I like knowing that they are there when I need them. The G30 with Final Cut Pro or another full featured edit provide an excellent workflow from capture to the final product.
Summary: It's perfect! It's quite big and a heavy, not to big though, you'll get use to it. I used it to record and event, and it came out great quality with Adobe Premiere Elements 12, and HD in Blu ray with APE12.
Excerpt: I use this product mostly for making local small business commercials and home videos, many of which are entered into various contests. I find the manual focus to be absolutely phenomenal. All lights in the background are made into crisp, clear circles, rather than getting blurred out. The still images are not that great, but that isn't what the camera is really meant for. The starting kits provide just about everything you need to start a career in videography.
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Image Stabilization, Good in Low Light, Great Picture Quality, Great Sound, Great Zoom, Large Clear LCD, Zoom range/performance
