To aid with high quality recording the HR10 has Canon's Instant AF System and Super Range Optical Image stabilization. Additional features include 10x optical zoom, the DIGIC DV II HD Image Processor, 2.7-inch widescreen LCD display, and the option of capturing 3.1 megapixel images to a miniSD card (2-megapixel in dual record mode). That said, these flaws are minor and can be worked around using the manual controls during filming. It's without doubt the best value HD cam we've had pass through the Tech Lab by some way. Read more

Canon comes close to perfection this year when it comes to video quality in its consumer high definition camcorders. Every media category in which they have a product – tape, DVD, and hard disk drive – its camcorders offer the best-looking image. That said, a camcorder is made up of more than its video quality.
