Firmware Updates No Longer Offered - Product End Of Life - Class 10 SD Card Issues
10 February 2015
Summary: The camera is fantastic. However, I am writing this extended comment regarding the camera's firmware and ability to use CLASS 10 SD memory cards and hope that you find these comments helpful. I purchased the Canon Vixia HF S10 camcorder last week.
Summary: This is a great little camcorder. The fact that it incorporates a good digital still camera eliminates the need for a still digital camera. I only wish that Canon had incorporated a view finder. Having to use the LED, especially in bright sunlight is not good. Overall picture quality is excellent.
Summary: We purchased this camera for our little nonprofit public access TV station, for use in the field by high school students and other volunteers. The camera we bought was lightly used but in excellent condition. The seller's description was accurate and the price just right for our limited budget.
Arrived broken but the vendor took care of it immediately.

Summary: The camera arrived well packaged, but the lens blind was stuck in the up position making it inoperable. I contacted the vendor immediately and they were very responsive. I sent it back for a refund as it was a pre-owned camera.
Excerpt: I love still photography a lot, but I find that most of the cameras that are very good for still photography aren’t very good for video recording. It is for this reason that in addition to a myriad digital cameras, I also decided to buy myself a Canon VIXIA …
Summary: It is a nice camcorder but Canon doesn't and won't support it. It only accepted class4 & class6 SD-cards, put in a class10 and the thing limits the recording format because it doesn't recognize the faster "class".
Summary: I bought this camcorder more than two years ago and I was never disappointed in the quality of HD video and still photos this small camcorder delivers. It is very easy to transfer videos and photos to your PC for further editing by simply connecting the camera to your PC with the provided USB cable.
