Features

The VIXIA FS31 is a camcorder that allows users to capture video on a 16GB internal flash drive as well as onto an SD memory card. This allows users to view their recording on a computer or television via its card reader slot for immediate viewing. A higher capacity SD memory card can also be used to expand video storage of the FS31. Flash memories also provide users with quick response time, because it doesn't have to wait for moving parts, low power consumption rate that allows battery to last longer and is shock resistant compared to other recording storage systems that protects data and recordings from damage. It also minimizes the chance of data loss due to damage to recording media or the moving parts found in other camcorders. The camcorder is powered by a Genuine Canon 41x Advanced Zoom with 680,000 pixel CCD Image Sensor and Canon DIGIC DV II Image Processor that captures optimized video. Other features on the camcorder include Dynamic IS which provides continuous adjustment throughout the entire zoom range to correct a broader range of motion; extra compensation applied at wide-angle focal lengths to reduce vibration during recording; a 2.7“ LCD with 123,000 dot screen color support, Quick Start to ensure shots are not missed (camera can start recording when the LCD display is opened in Camera Mode and is placed in standby when it is closed); Dual Shot for capturing video and photos; Pre-record function that places the FS31 in a stand-by ”pre-roll“ mode where the camcorder is continuously recording three seconds of video to memory before the record button is pressed; Widescreen HR with 16:9 High Resolution Widescreen and several Program AE function such as Portrait, Sports, Night Mode, Snow and Beach, Sunset, Spotlight, and Fireworks.

  • Shutter malfuction.

My FS31 is about 4 years old. The shutter is stuck in the half open position. I can manually push it all the way open or closed, but it snaps back to half open. Have removed the battery, re-charged, etc. No error code on the screen. Any ideas?
