Summary: I am still using this and I love it. Its easy to use and I like to watch the movies after I have used this to make a DVD. I take still shots and they always look great love canon products. Thank you seller and Amazon.
Summary: I've had this camcorder for about a year now and have enjoyed it thoroughly. The camera is light enough that it doesn't weight you down and more importantly has a very quick start up if you're like me and turn the thing off to conserve battery life.

Summary: I sell camcorders and cameras for a living. I've used and sold about 25 current camcorders and 50 cameras. I purchased the DC50 because Canon has the best lenses and image processors in the business. Here is everything you need to know.
Summary: If you're using Windows Vista, DON'T buy this camera. The camera is not compatible with Vista, meaning you can't plug the camera directly into your computer. Also, the software the camera comes with (Sonic MyDVD) isn't compatible either, so you won't be able to edit the video or even copy to your...
Summary: Really easy to use, and takes great videos. I uploaded some onto my computer already w/ the USB connection. I also appreciate them sending it all the way to Afghanistan, been taking great flicks around here. Thanks Newegg.
Pros: Great camara, just read through the operation manuel and you have it donw. It has so many features that will take awhile to get it all down, so keep that manuel handy. As this was my first camcorder of any kind I found it easy to use. Great for a novice like me.
Cons: Only one really. It didn't come w/ a SIM chip for pictures, which I found disturbing considering the money that is paid for it.
Summary: After researching on many similar camcorders from different manufacturers, I purchased DC50. What a great choice !!! This is my very first camcorder and nothing to complain about; easy to operate. I JUST LOVE IT !!!
Pros: This camcorder is fun to use. It is my first purchase since the days of the huge VHS recorders, so not having to lug a 15# boulder is nice. The size is small and compact. The color view finder is an added bonus over some of the camcorders I reviewed. The DVD / DVD-R media storage makes the video ...
Cons: As in the Canon digital camera I purchased several years ago, the operating manual leaves a lot to be desired. It's not that it doesn't cover everything - it does - but I have yet to figure out what thought process went into catagorizing and editing it.
Summary: I give this product a 5 star rating because I believe it's great at what it does. I see this as a high end consumer product and I don't think Canon pretends that it's anything else. I bought the DC50 after reading just about everything I could find to compare the Canon with the Sony.
Summary: While this camcorder may be one of the more expensive DVD based Camcorders, its probably one of the best you'll find before moving on to High Definition. I had actually purchased the Sony SR42 30 GB before this and had to return it immediately because its performance was highly disappointing.
