Summary: After using this camera for a while, I already have more than a dozen DVDs, there are no way of playing the DVDs in my computers, tried various versions of Windows with no luck, can't play them in DVD player either, the only way is to play it in the Camcorder itself, the software supplied by Canon labeled as "Digital Video" solutions disk is a lie, it doesn't do video, only handle images.
Summary: I received the product about one week after purchase. I followed the instrctions and tried to insert a DVD-RW disc for recording. Unfortunately it gave me a message: CANNOT READ THE DISC, CHECK THE DISC. I tried three other discs (Memorex miniDVD+RW, bought via Amazon at the same time as I bought this Canon DC230, but none of them worked). I need technic support ASAP. Any suggestion would be appreciated.
Summary: I know this camcorder is only a couple of years old, but it cannot take pictures!!! The pictures (stills) it takes are worse than most camera phones. My mother bought this camcorder recently and uses it a lot as a camera, the pictures are very poor and grainy. When printed on 4"x7" they look blocky and the colours are off. I have nothing against Canon cameras, I have an EOS 450D (lovely camera).
Summary: I am particularly dissatisfied with this purchase as I now see the same item on your pages at £100 less than I paid! This has left a nasty taste and I shall be more careful in my choice of supplier in future!
Summary: i ordered a camcorder for my husbands birthday on the 23, still waiting, have been given two different delivery dates and now its not coming till 3-5 june. fast track delivery, whats that then! It should be 2-4 days.
