Summary: I originally bought it because, at the price, I could use it for non-professional shooting and not be heartbroken if it was met with a catastrophic accident. The quality of the video is so surprisingly good (it shoots in H264) and I use it as a back-up in the event my much more expensive Sony fails in the field. My only gripe is that battery life isn't all that great..However you can charge the battery in the camera from any 5vdc USB source or the supplied AC unit.
Summary: It's really easy to use, well designed, very portable and has a decent battery life. The only problem is it doesn't record from component and the battery indicator starts to decay when it's running out, not progressively.
Summary: Unless used, not bad at all. Have read terrible reviews and expected it to be worse than received. It takes good pictures, video quality is also fine. Microphone really could have been placed in front but it doesn't bother me that much. Satisfied for the price.
Summary: Hey! I bought this camera here in Spain, and while I was delighted with the price ( I got it for 69 ) and the image, the sound is awful. I bought this camera to make little videos with my English students, so that they could hear themselves speaking English! Well, that didn't work at all. Like I said, great image, absolutely horrible sound. I then went out and bought a microphone, as there is a mic jack. At least that's what the manual says.
Summary: This was my second choice for a quick and easy hd video/still camera. Should have been my first. Picture quality is great, still or video. Accessories still available online as are manuals. So far I have found nothing to dislike about this camera. Charges quickly with the supplied charger and can film as least 6 hours depending on the card. It seems like it could film for maybe 10 hours without any problem.
Summary: I produce a weekly Internet TV show that is shot against a green screen. I bought one of these cameras to try it out and have fallen in love with it. It does exactly what I'm after and is a huge improvement over using MiniDV tapes and SD resolution. Very surprising...
