Summary: These little boxes are amazing. Swap out the standard HD for a SSD and you're ready for anything. Install OpenELEC, hook it up to your network and set up with your file server and you have the best HTPC experience I've seen.
Pros: Best home theater PC out there
Cons: Had a fan go dead, but no trouble getting it replaced
Summary: I got one of these to test using as a RDP workstation into a server 2008r2 box using NLA. Works great! SIMPLE Ubuntu installation, with everything working out of the box: no driver hunting required. Included VESA mount to mount on the back of monitors is sweet. I have a feeling I'll be ordering a LOT of these!
Pros: -Small (duh)
Cons: -if you need VGA you need an adapter like the BYTECC HM-VGA005 (confirmed working great, PNP)
Summary: It worked great for about 1 year then dead. No lights or anything on unit. Checked power supply and its good. HDD and ram still good. Unfortunately it was 1 month out of warrenty when it died. If all the negative reviews where there like they are now (here and other retailers) I would not have bought this.
Summary: I'm waiting for my third AD12-U. Originally purchased Feb. 27, 2013. First unit started to randomly shut down after one month. No temp issues, etc. RMA April 6, received second unit three weeks+, died completely mid-June. Had some hassles with mfg. website registering second box but generally they respond well. They received the second RMA delivery on July 3rd but I have not heard from them since second RMA approval notification. I'm waiting semi-patiently.
Summary: For the benefit of prospective buyers (I'm a frequent Amazon user, but discovered this item after I had ordered it on Ebay), Here's how I got a satisfactory HTPC out of this micro-PC. I installed 4Gb of ram. Make sure you specify notebook ram, like this: Kingston KVR1333D3S9/4G DDR3-1333 SODIMM 4GB Notebook Memory Add any notebook Sata Hdd; I used a 1Tb sata Hdd to have room to record TV. Problems: 1.
Summary: Easy to use..great product! I replaced my huge CPU with this product. Very light weight. Takes up very little space...I can hook it up to any monitor or flat screen tv so I have no more use for a laptop. Zbox is much smaller and lighter weight than even a laptop! I am extremely pleased with this product!
Summary: Zotac makes awesome video cards, but their PCs are awesome too. I put 8gb of ram and a 5400 RPM 1 TB hard drive in mine, comes with 3.0 BT as well, well worth the $200.00 for it even without a hard drive and ram...mines running windows 8 and runs awesome..
