Summary: After using this computer a few months the TV tuner quit working. A message "All TV tuners are currently in use" appears in the dialog box as the application tries to start. Sony online "help" could not give me an answer to the problem, but wanted to sell me a service contract instead. They also claimed I have a virus causing the problem that "no anti-virus program could detect".
Summary: We were all impressed by the screen, the speed, and the simplicity of the design...at first. After 4 months, though, we played our first DVD. It was really loud and had a hard time playing the movie. We had to re-insert the DVD several times to get it to work. It sounded like it was about to go out. Then, about a month later, the computer started locking up. It was intermittent at first. Then, it started locking up regularly. It even did it in safe mode.
Summary: I bought this beautiful machine on Sept. 24th, and the hard drive crashed on Oct 13th. Took it in for service on the 15th, and returned it for a refund on the 16th. This is one well polished turd, however, it is still a turd. One more thing; I will never buy another thing at best Buy. The Geek Squad has the worst customer service I have ever come across.
Summary: This is fantastic computer as a machine, does all what you need it to do, but the problems starts when you have to look at the screen and especially when you work with text and graphics, browse web.. watch movies so practically in every way you need to use it. It will put such a strain on your eyes that after few days or weeks you will be wondering why your eyes got so bad so soon.
Summary: I ordered this pc from SONY on 12/11/10. It came DOA. I called SONY and the first techman I saw was 1/3/11! Harrived with the WRONG PARTS! On 1/8/11, another techman showed again with the WRONG PARTS! I then called SONY and demanded a refund. The SONY support person told me to generate a RA# return. What he didn't inform of was that he also could have offred me free return postage.
Summary: Hello, I have been wanting this PC for almost a year. It finally went on sale and I grabbed it. I was very satisfied with it until I discovered a problem copying large files to any connected USB devices. In my case, I have to transfer large video images. When I tried to copy them to a USB drive, it would lock up Windows 7. Google Searches seem to indicate this is a common problem and many hardware vendors are coming up with bios patches.
Summary: Major underperformer. Windows 7 is the most frustrating experience I have ever had and I've had some doozies. To "simplify", they removed features and moved commands that most XP users are going to find maddening. I was aware in the beginning that there would be compatibility issues with my older programs and peripherals, but after many hours of working with Sony chat support and my software providers, I was pretty much over it.
