I bought this barebone to build an office computer for myself. I fitted an Intel i7-3770K CPU, 32GB of RAM, an Intel 120GB SSD, a Seagate 1TB HD 7200rpm, and a medium size graphics card. Even though this was the first time I ever opened a computer, or poked around in Bios, this was absolutely painless and worked beautifully. I watched a bunch of instruction videos but I found the instructions provided by Shuttle more useful.
Initially I worked with the on-board graphics, which resulted in screen blackouts whenever the demands were high. (I am not a gamer, but occasionally I work simultaneously with 3 graphics software and that's when the blackouts occurred.) So I installed a medium size graphics card (GeForce GT 520) which fit nicely in the chassis and this eliminated the problems.
I read about some problems on the internet, including frequent blackouts, high temp and high fan noise levels; I do not experience any of this, maybe sine I have only moderate demands on the computer.
