Greatest PC I ever owned

John K., Newegg
4 November 2014
  • Summary: Made it through 6 years, 5 OS, 2 processors, and multiple memory/hard drive swap outs. If the LGA 775 socket wasn't so outdated, this would be the ultimate machine in my collection.
  • Pros: Went from a hackintosh to a gaming pc to an htpc then back to a gaming pc and now proudly sits as an HTPC with linux and only 1 gig of ram in it.
  • Cons: None!

Was great, now a paper weight

John K., Newegg
4 November 2014
  • Summary: Still miss the old bargain bin shuttle boxes. They don't make them like they used to.
  • Pros: Started as an HTPC and then made it to an entry level gaming before the capacitors blew. Had 4 gig or ram, could fit any single slot PCI Express card, and had enough usb ports for its time.
  • Cons: Capacitors blew after 3 years.... Not very durable

User Review

Mr. L., Newegg
4 October 2008
  • Summary: Package was opened with a dent on the top of the case. The package should have been put into another box and taped closed. Newegg is better than how they shipped this product! I should not have to pay for shipping or 15% re-stocking since this product was defective and not by my choice.
  • Pros: Nice style Great compact size.
  • Cons: Video does not work with on-line Netflix. Audio does not work at all. Does not seem to handle the E7200 CPU ( latest BIOS loaded )

  • Pros: Compact, sturdy, solid construction and absolutely dependable. I got this unit to replace a sub-par HP 1810y, which just ran slower and slower. Same configuration on this machine and it never misses a beat. My wife uses it as her primary machine. Mama's happy!
  • Cons: I've heard the PS doesn't last. Hasn't been a problem yet. Not a lot of room in the case, but enough for an average build.

  • Pros: Ubuntu And Vista Run GREAT. The onboard graphics support Ubuntu's Desktop Effects and Vista Aero. Supports 4GB Ram, Overclocks a E7200 to 4GHz.
  • Cons: Q6600 Won't work :(

Nice

Tyler H., Newegg
4 September 2008
  • Pros: Very compact, easily understood instructions. Does what it is supposed to do.
  • Cons: Only one IDE connection, and I missed that in the description. I ended up having to swap my hard drive for a SATA drive so I could connect my DVD drive as well.

Great box

Patrik L., Newegg
3 September 2008
  • Summary: All in all an relatively easy and quick build. Will definately think Shuttle next time someone needs a computer in the family.
  • Pros: Excellent case with good cable management. Easy enough to add features exept for trying to get the removable bay back after everything else is in.
  • Cons: Small, but that's the major pro. Get's hot if you add something like the 9600 GT. Might have to add some additional holes on the side for vents.

Great buy

Ryan L., Newegg
8 August 2008
  • Summary: GREAT BUY! I was astonished by how much smaller it was compared to how I imagined it. It's a great looking case. You can't go wrong with buying this thing, it's worth it. I'll definitely look to Shuttle in the future.
  • Pros: Wow! You'll be amazed by this little box. Everything is clean and organized, and it's easy and very intuitive in how you take it apart. Just a great overall design. PSU is efficient and the CPU cooling system was well thought out.
  • Cons: That darn blue LED in the front.. I'm using this for an HTPC and that sucker is briiiight. Nothing a little square of electrical tape couldn't take care of though.

A big surprise in a small case

Anonymous, Newegg
17 July 2008
  • Summary: Works great with Linux (Ubuntu as well as SuSE 11.0)
  • Pros: I bought this unit for a client who is donating it to Habitat for Humanity project in Mexico. Long story short - I installed Windows XP Pro and Ubuntu Linux (dual boot) on it without so much as a hiccup. Granted, the chipset is a bit dated, but overall it's performed exceptionally well. It's a bi...
  • Cons: Intel chipset on this Shuttle is a bit long in the tooth.

Flawless Ubuntu Instalation

Anonymous, Newegg
17 July 2008
  • Summary: I bought an open box system to save some money. The specifications state that the max memory supported is 2GB, this is incorrect! I'm using A-DATA 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit, Model: ADQVE1B16K which I bought at Newegg.
  • Pros: Used this and some spare parts I had to try out Ubuntu. Here are the parts that were installed: Intel Core2Duo E6600, 4GB RAM ADATA 800MHz, 160GB IDE hard drive (as master), IDE DVD drive (as slave), ATI X600 256MB video card. The latest version of Ubuntu installed without a glitch. The system is...
  • Cons: Blue LED is too bright, had to cover it up.
