Summary: We were happy with our Chromebox - for about 16 months. Used it mostly as a streaming media device for our TV (in lieu of cable). Then one day, it just wouldn't turn on. Poof! No more Chromebox. :-( Despite living with two IT guys, this little box isn't very user-fixable, and for the cost to repair, it makes more sense to either buy a new one (for $100 LESS than we paid for this one), or just go with a different MiniPC device for even less.
Summary: A very intriguing concept. It removes a lot of the clutter associated with computing but still let's you be productive. It is simple as a tablet with apps but also has google docs for building spreadsheets, presentations and written documents. Plus you can structure all of this into folders, something that is more difficult to do on android or iOS. Still was a bit difficult for me to set up a printer.
Summary: My parents needed an upgrade from their old Win XP pc so I bought them a Win8 machine, and boy, what a disaster that turned out to be, all tiles where extremely confusion for them, they didn't know how to get to the desktop, they didn't understand how to close them, etc…. Also, please know that both my parents are 78 years old, so they grew up in the typewriter era! Needless to say, I returned the Win8 machine and put back the dinosaurs on their desk.
Summary: This is a superb computer! Can it take the place of and iMac or PC? YES! This Chromebox is the future of computers and I give kudos to Samsung and Google for this technological break through! Dump your tower and join the revolution in computing. Fast! Lightning boot up. Quick internet! Super easy to set up, enter your gmail password and your ready to go! The industry will be going this way but Chromebox technology is here now!
Summary: I had been contemplating purchasing one of these to replace an aging Apple Mac Mini. When I saw this listed on Amazon for $249, I did not waste any time pulling the plug. As a net-surfing, media playing, word processing device - I could not be more pleased. It is fast on start-up, offers multiple user accounts, was easy to set-up. I am using the Apple Bluetooth keyboard and magic track pad I had from the Mac Mini w/ no issue.
Summary: This system adequately represents the CromeOS. I can do my silly internet browsing in the morning before I head to work. I use a DVI to HDMI cable to connect this to my TV, and it successfully brings both video and sound to my television. I still use a different PC for specific applications, but when I am sitting in front of the TV and need to google something, this works out quite well. Able to print to cloud accessible printer.
Summary: I am very happy with this Chromebox as my main computer. I am a Chrome user and I store everything on my Google "Drive" anyway so it wasn't a switch for me at all to store stuff on Drive instead of on the hard drive (which is tiny on this computer.) I only use my computer to surf the web and to write, so it's perfect for me.
